A castrator is a tool used to sterilize male livestock (such as cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs) by removing or restricting blood flow to the testicles. Castration is commonly done to prevent unwanted breeding, improve meat quality, and reduce aggressive behavior.
How to Use a Castrator (Rubber Ring Method)
Step 1: Select the Right Time
Best performed on young animals (1–3 weeks old) to minimize stress and pain.
Step 2: Apply the Rubber Ring
Stretch the rubber ring using an elastrator tool.
Slide the ring over the scrotum, ensuring both testicles are below the ring.
Release the ring and check that it sits firmly at the base.
Step 3: Monitor the Animal
Check for signs of infection, swelling, or distress.
The testicles will shrivel and fall off naturally in 2 to 4 weeks.
